Mission of the committee :
To promote and nurture Bharatiya values and culture among youth through organizing various events at the temple through out the year. Events are religious, cultural and social in nature. To present an opportunity to the youth of Asian Indian origin to develop leadership skills through community service events. Provide a safe and religious environment for the youth to interact with each other socially and in service to the community.

Youth Competitions 2010
Youth Wecome Party held on January 30th at 4PM at The Bharatiya Temple
The youth welcome party was held on Jan 30th and was attended by about 60 youth members. It was a great way for everyone to meet with each other at the beginning of the year. It was also a nice, informal way to welcome new members into the group and create enthusiasm. Last year’s president, Snigdha Paruchuri thanked everybody and then the new executive members introduced themselves. We had two guest speakers, Mahesh and Sharon Nayak. Mr. Nayak is an attorney and Mrs. Nayak is a teacher in the Birmingham School district. They discussed with us their experiences in straddling the two cultures growing up in US, and how they handle it in their professional careers. They also described how they chose their careers, which was very informative. We all enjoyed pizza and pop and became acquainted with each other. Thanks to all the aunties and uncles for planning this party for us. We all had a blast!
