The Importance of Membership :

THE SOUL OF THE BHARATIYA TEMPLE is its membership—individuals, couples and families who, year after year, make a commitment to support the organization. Their contributions of time, knowledge and financial resources help the temple fulfill its mission of serving the community and promoting the Hindu way of life. Becoming a member signals an affirmation of these ideals.
The temple welcomes members from all segments of society, regardless of race, color, sex, religious affiliation, national origin, ethnic background, age, marital status, handicap, veteran status or sexual orientation. The only expectation from those interested in becoming members is a respect for Hindu philosophy and the Hindu way of life.
The Bharatiya Temple is a house of God, and its doors are open to everyone. Without sustained support from a broad-based membership, however, it’s hard to imagine that those doors would be open at all.

Categories of Membership :

THE CONSTITUTION OF THE BHARATIYA TEMPLE provides for two principal categories of membership: Annual Membership and Life Membership.
Annual members pay family dues of $100 a year. Member families receive temple publications and discounted rates on temple services, such as educational programs and facility rentals. Dues-paying members who contribute more than $250 in a calendar year are eligible to vote in elections to select the following year’s slate of temple trustees.
Life membership is conferred on those member families whose cumulative financial contributions total $10,000 or more. Life members are not obligated to pay annual dues. All life members are eligible to vote in temple elections.

Reduced tuition fees for dance, language, chess and other classes
Reduced-price tickets to cultural programs and events
Reduced rates for facility rental
Reduced rates for priest services
Check-out privileges at the temple Library
Opportunities to participate in youth programs such as summer camp and the Basant Bahar talent show
Volunteering and community-service opportunities
Free temple publications, including an annual calendar, Chetana quarterly magazine and the temple member directory
Automatic payment system for annual membership renewal
