Job Duties of the Offered Position/Level of Responsibility/Supervision
 
The details of the offered position are as follows including but not limited to:
 
  1. Performance of daily poojas, Archanas, Abhishekam and Aarti of one or more of the deities, including those of Sri Lakshmi Narayana, Sri Venkateswara , Sri Shiva,Sri Ganesh, Durga Mata, and Lord Hanuman. The Priest will perform religious worship and prayers in the morning, afternoon and evening on a daily basis. (full responsibility- no supervision)
  2. Special poojas to the deities pursuant to the Hindu religious practices, and other poojas including, Satyanarayana Pooja, Gowri-Ganesha Pooja, Durga Sapthasathi, Mata-ki-Chowki, etc
  3. Havan/Homam: Ganesh Havan, Sudharshana Havan, Navagraha Havan, Rudra Havan, Chandi Havan, Mrityunjaya Havan, Panchayat Yagna and Shanti Havan, etc. 
  4. Chanting of religious hymns and prayers such as Sri Vishnu Sahasranama parayana, Lalitha Sahasranamam, Rudaparayana and Hanuman Chalisa, Sundarkand, Akhand Ramayan parayan; Devatha Kalyanam : Shiva/­Parvathi, Venkateshwara, Sita/Rama, and Rukmini/Krishna. 
  5. Special ceremonies when requested by the devotees: Gruha Pravesh- the house warming ceremony, weddings, Namakarana, Upanayana, Srimanth, funeral ceremonies, Shradham and all kinds of Apara samskaras.
  6. Eligibility requirements of Priests:
    • Must be well versed in Vedic rituals
    • Must be qualified as a Hindu priest in performing Shodasha Karmas.
    • Valid certification from a known University, Hindu religious organization etc.
    • Must be friendly and welcoming to devotees 
    • Maintain highly ethical code of conduct all the times
    • Must be collaborative with all employees, working committees and volunteers to maintain friendly environment in the temple
    • Must have a working knowledge of English with good communication skills.
    • Experience in doing Alankarams to the deities is desirable.
    • Ability to lead bhajans, group spiritual activities and explain the meaning of shlokas to devotees.
    • Basic knowledge of computer skills is needed
