SEVA(Society Enrichment through Volunteer Activities

Our  2018 Accomplishments

Here’s a look at some of Seva’s major activities and achievements in support of education and community outreach :

  • Provided winter clothes and basic essentials for South Oakland Shelter for Homeless.

  • Sorted, packed, and delivered clothes and food items to Extended Hands, a non-profit organization that supports homeless and underprivileged.

  • Donated Laptops and books to Children’s Place, Detroit.

  • Delivered School Supplies to Harrington Elementary School, Pontiac, MI.

  • Donated books to Front Porch, Detroit. Front Porch is a after school activity center for Detroit school children.

  • Donated 80 shirts for Heart2Hart for Detroit homeless men.

  • Supported Oakland Foster care program by providing backpacks with school supplies for middle and high school children.

  • Organized Sakhi to Sakhi sale to raise funds for SEVA activities.

  • Organized 2018 temple’s health fair.

  • Organized car seat check collaborating with GM and U of Michigan Health System.

  • Donated funds to Kerala Flood victims.

  • Participated and supported Shades of Pink Foundation Walk.

  • Supported apple orchard trip for 64 underprivileged school kids and their families through Front Porch, a non-profit organization supporting after school activities for kids in Detroit.

  • Supported Detroit Institute for Young Women, a High School for girls in Detroit for their education needs.

  • Donated books for K to Grade 5 students at Herrington Elementary School, Pontiac for Christmas gifts.
